Godiva the Chocolate Lab

We've made a decision on a puppy! We will be taking Godiva home on Saturday. She is the only chocolate lab in the pile! We will post lots of pictures once she is home.

Dancing with Daddy

Caught this on video and so cute!

Dancing with Daddy!

Please ignore my dirty kitchen! The kitchen gets cleaned after the girls go down for the night, and this was BEFORE then, obviously:)

Night Time with the Girls

Our night time routine is pretty scheduled, but adding three 2 year olds to the mix always makes for an interesting time:) I videoed this the other day. Pretty typical in our crazy house.

Night Time with the Girls

Sorry you have to listen to me singing, but the girls are still alive, so it can't be too bad:)

Snow In October

One of these days we might adjust to the crazy October weather here in Cedar City. One day, maybe, perhaps if I have surgery to switch my brain and body with a snow loving freak!

I only liked snow when I was a kid because in Washington, DC the whole city and surrounding counties shut down for snow. Snow meant no school. Once I was an adult and working for a living snow meant stupid drivers doing stupid things and risking my life while driving to work (dental offices do not close for snow!) Now snow equals one thing. COLD. I hate cold weather. I would move to a tropical paradise if I could 1. Afford it 2. Brady had a job 3. The Lord said go and provided the way! So, the likelihood is slim to none. In the mean time I am trying to deal with the weather. Snow before Halloween!!!

Without fail Halloween has been FREEZING, but snow has not come before Halloween in the 7 years Brady has lived here (3 more than me). This year we have about 6 inches on the ground on the 28th. BOOOO! (no pun intended!)

The girls on the other hand think it is FANTASTIC! There is a song from Barney (I will not go on a monologue about how I have permanent brain damage as a result of that show!) about snow flakes and we sang it about 30 times yesterday!
It goes like this (I hope it is stuck in your head for the next three weeks too:)

"If all the snowflakes were candy drops and milkshakes, OH what a snow that would be!
Standing outside with my mouth opened wide, AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH
If all the snowflakes were candy drops and milkshakes, OH what a snow that would be!"

This morning the girls saw the snow for the first time since March and they thought it was so wonderful! They kept saying "All White! All White!" this morning.

But snow means being cooped up in the house:( But we did our favorite activity. DANCING. Thank goodness they got their father's genes and can dance better than me!

Here are some videos!

Animal Updates

Lance has been with us for a while and has become quite comfortable as the pictures below show! He is very playful and sometimes it ends up with him in 'time-out' (locked in the bathroom) because he gets too rough with the girls. Calli is quick to send him there when she is fed up with him!

But he is sweet and gentle at times to cuddle up on our lap and fall asleep, even though he has taken to sleeping in some of the strangest places!!! (though all of the pictures are post-sleeping because he woke up when the camera turns on!)

Sleeping in the 'In Box'

Sleeping on the edge of a chair

Sleeping in the baby doll's stroller

Sleeping...Yes, that is what you think it is!!! Sleeping in the Pink Potty chair!!!

In other animal news...About four weeks ago 8 puppies entered the world. Grandpa Price's AKC Yellow Lab Mia is the momma and we will be taking one of these little guys home in about 4 more weeks!

The girls are just crazy over them! They love to pet them and kiss them.

Nana holding the black boy:)

We do not know which one we will bring home, but we are getting ready and excited!
Once we decide on the puppy we are getting we will post pictures!

When we go to Grandpa and Nana Price's house I think the girls think they live on a farm... with 9 dogs, a bunch of rabbits, a cat and a huge garden! (It is not a farm, but it is fun to go and pretend!)

Grandpa spent a good part of the morning pulling the girls on his wagon!

Our Newest Addition!

Meet Lancelot our new baby! He is a tiny 6 week old kitten who we adopted from a friend/ co-worker of Brady's. He came to us just on Sunday and has already won over everyone:)

He got his name as a result of a vet visit he had about 3 weeks ago... His umbilical cord had an infection on it and a scab about the size of a quarter. The vet had him held down and he ripped the scab off and LANCED his belly button! He passed out from the experience, but healed beautifully (except that he now has an 'outie' now!) So, we named him Lance and it fits him perfectly:)

I don't know if this shows how tiny he is but I doubt he weighs more than a pound!

He is a sweet little guy who loves to snuggle and follow me around. The girls are a bit overwhelming to him and he hides in Brady and my room during the times the girls are awake, but he is very tolerant of the girls coming in the room to pet him. And when he is in a playful mood he comes and finds the girls and the girls are just as happy to play with him as he is to be playing!

He is already spoiled by sleeping with me and Brady at night (right next to our heads!) Last night he was so snuggly I had too put him on the floor about 10 times because I could not sleep! But he finally got the idea and just fell asleep next to my head without trying to burrow into my neck, or sucking on my ears (ARGH!)

He already came litter box trained so we have not had any accidents and we are keeping our fingers crossed:) Now if only my girls came potty trained I would not be dreading next week when we take the official plunge into big girl panties!

The Things Little People Say!

No pictures today. Just some commentary...

Lately our three little ladies have developed quite the vocabulary. They can pretty much repeat anything I say (or Brady for that matter) which means I have to watch what I say now... not that I really had to before, but goodness they don't miss a beat!

For example... While hurdling over a baby gate I caught my toe and went flying through the hall way with Virginia in my arms and an expletive came out of my mouth. Thankfully both of us were okay except for the fact that our sweet Virginia said her first cuss word as a result of Momma not keeping her vocabulary in check! (Note- I rarely use cuss words because I charge myself $1 each time to give to our church's perpetual education fund for each cuss word and one month many moons ago I gave over $200 and that cured me... mostly!) I was quick to let Virginia know that she should not use that word and hopefully she won't! But with my luck she'll used it again during church!

Another example... Lately we have been having a lot of 'potty talk' since we are gearing up to potty train the girls next week. A lot of pee pee and poopy talk! The public service announcements about when I need to use the facilities and what kind I am going are always top topics. And with the girls announcing if they are poopy or peepee all the time! So, I should not have been shocked the other day, but I suppose this discussion goes more along the lines of observation than just potty talk.

I had just gotten out of the shower and was getting ready to get dressed in my room. One thing I lost when I had children was any sense of privacy, especially now that the girls are escorting me to the bathroom to watch me do my business! Anyways... Calli came in the room and announced that 'Momma peepee!" Now peepee means two things the action and the area which the action comes from in our house. I never called it that, but the girls have taken to calling that area a peepee as well. I replied to Calli, "Yes, Calli. Momma has a peepee." Then Calli with a questioning voice, "Momma peepee hair?"

Oh, my! somehow I thought I would not be discussing this topic for many years! All I said was, "Yes." and ushered her out of the room to finish dressing in private! Who would have thought a two year old would notice that! Wow! Do they figure things out fast!

So, I've come to two conclusions this week. Watch what you say. And my babies really are not babies anymore! Who would have thought it would happen so fast!

Shakespearian Festival Green Show

The Shakespearian Festival's home is here in Cedar City at SUU. We have only gone to one play in the four years we have been married, even though it is all of a 5 minute walk from our house! But there is something we have never done before, which we have decided we definitely need to do more often... The Green Show.

The Green Show is a free show that takes place right next to the Shakespeare Theater on a mini stage outside. Families come and sit on the lawn and watch the performers sing, dance and play instruments while dressed in period clothing and speak with a British accent.

For Family Home Evening instead of going to the park (which we do about 99% of the time) we loaded up the girls in the stroller and headed over to SUU. Sadly we were late (I though tit started at 7:30 and it started at 7), but we saw about 20 minutes of the show. From the minute the girls saw the performers they were a captive audience! We already knew they loved singing and dancing- but we were pleasantly surprised at how well behaved they were:)

We went with a dual purpose because our adopted Grandpa, Brother Higbee works at the Green Show as a wood carver and he sells some of the most beautiful walking sticks and wind chimes (if anyone comes to Cedar City you will have to see the beautiful carvings he does!) He dresses up in period costume and carves during the Green Show. So after the show we went to get a picture. Deseret was not too fond of the idea. I think she did not recognize Brother Higbee in his costume! Maybe we can get a better picture next year!

The peice of wood Calli is holding is what Bob was carving during the wood show. She would not let it go! It has a Sprite face on it. We will have to return it on sunday:)

This picture is completely random. But we saw it on the way home from the Green Show. This is in honor of my Sister-in-law Melissa (who loves Volkswagens) who gave birth to a little baby boy this morning at 8:47 am. Rockwell Clayton Howard is 9 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches long! Welcome to the world Rock!

New Camera Fun

Our friend Vickie thought she had a beehive in the eaves of her house (though it ended up that there was another hive stealing honey from the dead hive that was there last winter!), so she had called Brady to come check it out. We loaded the family up and headed out to her house. While we were waiting for Brady to load everything he needed I snapped some pictures with the new camera.

This is how the Price Family rolls. Three across. Cute, huh?

The camera has a red eye reduction feature that shines an orange light and Deseret thought it was so funny! She kept hiding from it and laughing.

This is a classic Deseret smile. So joyous!

Hiding from the light!

Calli on the other hand would have nothing to do with it!

We still don't know what color to call Calli's eyes, but they are just beautiful:)

I finally got Virginia to 'smile' by saying, show me your teeth!

Look at those beautiful blue eyes!!!

My beautiful girls! How blessed I am!
